Interview Filipe

BA: Hi Filipe, our project manager since September 2019, we are very happy to have you with us!

Filipe: Exactly - hello, glad to be here as well!

BA: That's great to hear, so we'll tie right into that: What was the reason why you applied here?

Filipe: In a nutshell: love brought me here, to be more precise, my girlfriend. She lives in Mannheim, I myself am originally from Darmstadt and when the next step in our relationship came up, I decided to quit my job and move to Mannheim. While looking for a job in project management, I quickly came across Brain Appeal. Since both the job posting and the entrepreneurial presentation appealed to me very much, I unpacked my camera, produced a short application video and then one thing led to another.

BA: Very creative! How were the first days and months for you?

Filipe: Very relaxed and I was well looked after. Time was taken to answer my questions and I had many questions that needed to be answered. It also didn't take much time before I was sufficiently involved in some ongoing projects, which is ultimately thanks to the short lines of communication and the helpfulness in the team. 

BA: What do you particularly like about the work?

Filipe: The WE feeling and the opportunity to shape your own working day independently and to contribute ideas, suggestions and criticism. Working on existing processes in terms of their performance and efficiency, introducing completely new approaches or discussing them together in the team. I think it's great to be able to work on different projects and a wide variety of focal points.  In addition, it gives me the opportunity to contribute my own strengths, which go beyond the actual classic activity, as in my case, that of a project manager, to the design and implementation of a project.

BA: That makes us very happy! How do you get along in the team?

Filipe: Very well. We are not a large team, but still a heterogeneous group. Everyone has different characteristics, strengths, but also weaknesses, and in the end the team lives and benefits from this. We help each other, take our time in meetings, listen to each other, and everyone actively contributes to the company's success.

BA: And last but not least: What has been your best moment with us so far?

Filipe: The shared toast with the first bottle of beer in my hand after work in a relaxed atmosphere. There has to be a bit of fun at this point, yet there are many great moments, but not the one best moment. It never gets boring, we work, discuss, laugh and also celebrate together from time to time. There is variety, which is also encouraged and contributes significantly to the success of Brain Appeal.
