TYPO3 Usergroup Rhine Neckar

The TYPO3 Usergroup Rhein Neckar (T3UGRN) was very well attended with 18 participants and we could welcome them yesterday in our rooms. It is nice that beside the "old-established" participants this time also new TYPO3 enthusiasts were present.

Interesting was the TYPO3 performance comparison of the new TYPO3 8 LTS to version 7 LTS. Here Stefan could impressively show the differences in his setup.

We also had a look at the image processing integrated in TYPO3 8 LTS and in addition we were told about new features from TYPO3 Camp Vienna (Vienna). It is now possible to display one or more protection areas (TCA coverAreas) in the image crop, which shows TYPO3 editors which areas on the web page are covered with other information. For example, in the case of a header graphic that is overlaid with a call-to-action.

In an open Q&A session, individual questions were discussed with many possible solutions and probably the best way to solve them.
