Brain Appeal releases free TYPO3 Migrate Multicolumn to Gridelements
Recently I already presented our TYPO3 extension Tree Copier here. Today we take a look at the Migrate Multicolumn to Gridelements Extension, which we of course also provide for free download.
Extension: Brain Migrate Multicolumn to Gridelements
As the name already suggests: this extension supports the migration of multicolumn containers (including content) to gridelements.
In a customer project we were faced with the challenge to migrate content that was managed with multicolumn containers to the more beautiful extension gridelements. Of course, with enough time and motivation, this could all be migrated manually. Well - much nicer and more useful is of course a (self-written) software.
This useful extension Brain Migrate Multicolumn to Gridelements migrates all multicolumn containers and their content to gridelements containers. Since both extensions are configurable, it is almost impossible to make them work on every system configuration. Migrate Multicolumn to Gridelements finds out which flexform configuration is used for each multicolumn container, lists them and lets the TYPO3 administrator decide to which gridelement layouts the content should be migrated.
What are the advantages of this?
As thenumber of content elements to be migrated increases, so does the time saved compared to migrating by hand. Less time required = effective = less expensive. In addition, no elements are forgotten, since all are systematically recorded.
